I'm surprised we've had no reports from AWA Rochester.
Would love to read some objective reports, see photos
of the jam packed flea market, the fantastic contest entries.
What happened?

Quite possibly, nothing. I would have expected some sort of report by now as well. Never heard from any friends who usually go.

It was dampened by a rainy morning. The flea market wasn't large, but I found it good. I do have enough radios to keep me busy for now, so I bought a box of old radio books and catalogs.

The museum has expanded into phase 2 now. The Stratosphere is now on display.

I really enjoyed my day out with friends.

My son and daughter-in-law moved within 15 minutes of the conference center and the museum. We had stopped at the museum on our last trip. I was very impressed and joined the AWA on the spot and bought a T-shirt.

We had been planning another visit from MI to see them and decided to do it this last weekend in order to stop in at the AWA conference for a few hours anyway. I showed up Friday morning prepared to register. The fellow the table seemed embarrassed to tell me that the only registration available was for the whole week for $60. Since it was Friday, and I was only going to be there for a couple hours, I passed.

But the flea market was free. It was a very large parking lot with maybe a dozen tables. I saw my good friend Ken Nevins who had driven in from Michigan. There wasn't much on display, and of what was there, I sure didn't see any bargains. I really don't need any more projects at the moment.

All in all, I was there about 90 minutes. The membership meeting was going on. I peeked my head in and didn't see much of a crowd.

My limited impression of the event was kind of sad. But I really didn't partake in it much.

A dozen tables?

Wow, it really is a shadow of its former self…
It used to have the largest flea market of ANY radio meet in the US with hundreds of tables.
