Hotel California, original new release LP I bought. Plenty of used LP's after and many have gone away. Still have H.C. and a few others from my youth. Saved the High end labels like London, RCA's, Decca and a few others not for content so much but for the quality of the recording. Also save a couple picture albums "text" albums, one siders, etc. Also saved the many sound effect and other "special editions" none of these were collected for their merit but came with the estates I acquired...

Though my player system is apart, I still remember the clarity and presence of the Phillips recording of Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition played on a Phillips turntable, Phillips pre-amp, Haffler Mosfet 250 watt amp, MagnaPlanar speakers as big as a closet doors...

Someday I'll get it back together again...

Chas

Just grabbed a "gramma" collection a couple weeks ago…1954 consolette with a V-M (near mint) on a great mid-century table we are now using in the living room, and a good pile of 78s (mostly vocals/pop, but some cowboy, polka and Hawaiian that I'm not terribly interested in) and a stack of LP's, mostly predictable Grandma stuff but a few surprises like Ray Charles sings some country and western classics, Mamas and Papas, some Xmas I kept, and some fun compilations.

I have stocked my 1962 Seeburg with 90s rock stuff, it is stereo with 6973 drivers,
and sounds as good as the platters it is fed! The unit plays large or small hole 7'' disks. Small hole was to play at 33, but
pick of small 33s is limited...so if one disables it, 45 plays small and large..which allows many choice
import discs to play without the 45 hole..
I bought a great limited copy of Counting Blue Cars by the group Dishwalla..
sweet..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Clxtg2pFTQM

That's a nice record, even though Frank's Hoboken accent is a little thick on the one side. He sings it "steller by starlight"
It can be heard here:

ZEFFER: Nice Find!!!!

I have a really nice-sized pile of 1990's/2000's 45s. I've never come across that one, but most of those were pressed as runs of 5000 or less, making them instantly collectable. I bought for several years from a jukebox supplier and ended up with several bizarre titles. Collecting one-hit-wonders from that period is exciting. I have things like Mambo #5 by Lou Bega, N*Sync, Shawn Mullins, Sophie B Hawkins, etc. Nice stuff

Two different takes on the same 45. The hit version:

and an Alternate Master that got remixed and used:

Which made me dig around the guy's World Music pile of raggedy 45's
til I found the original Mexican version:

I picked up Brenda Lee's Merry Christmas LP, in Hi-Fi mono, on the Decca label from 1964 today.

Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, in 1965 or 66, don't recall the name of the album.

Greatest Country And Western Hits (No. 4) - This one is in Mono
A 78: Frank Sinatra - That lucky old sun/Could Ja
A 78: Frank Sinatra - If I loved you/You'll never walk alone
A 78: Gene Autry - Rudolph the red nose reindeer/If it doesnt snow on christmas (*)

* - I found a FIRST PRESSING of this 78 -- The one I had didnt sound as good and had a skip @ the very end of the first song.. (Rudolph the red nosed reindeer) -- RED COLUMBIA LABEL (Sounds better than the re-press I had of this (As most original pressings do))

(LOL) You paid MONEY for a record that was pressed in the millions? I've got HUNDREDS of copies I'd have GIVEN you from leftover store stock along with Saturday Night Fever, Star Wars, Grease, the Sound of Music, Billy Joel's The Piano Man Yes 90125 and any number of Meco Monardo albums.

For the MILLION DOLLARS:

How is Bon Jovi and Meco Monardo associated?
No fair Googling.

I bought several LPs at my local record store for $2 each. The Bon Jovi LP was one of them.

It sounds great. Just like a 45 or LP. No surface noise at all.
