I last got an IRON MAIDEN record :) (Powerslave)

The record has a slight warp in it... Doesnt play well @ start of side 2...... Im putting under something heavy for hours and see if it hopefully flattens out......

When I bought my first CD player (1987?) Powerslave was one of the first CD's I bought to go with it. I'm sure I still have it in a box out in the garage.

A near mint copy of Blueberry Hill by Scat Man Crothers. A great performer, but I guess he had to make ends meet in the 50s doing sides for Tops. It's a really good version.

I bought a collection of over 100 45s at a hamfest here recently, a good mix of '60s to '80s pop songs. They will be good for the jukebox, or for my RCA color TV/radio/phono combo, now that I have a good needle for it as well.

This one came in over the transom last week. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, am working on being a Jackie Gleason completist (non-word?), and this is another step in that direction. 78 rpm promo.

I'm pretty sure that the last on I bought was Nick Drakes' "5 leaves left"

Ok...a few recent purchases: Cocktail Time with Frankie Carle, Sinatra's Sinatra (Nelson Riddle Orchestra), stereo version of Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vic Damone's Strange Enchantment.

I was browsing records at my local thrift shop and came across this for $1.00

World Famous Waltzes by Bob Stanley Orchestra (33-1/3 Long Play), has a few scratches but not bad, plays well, the odd thing it's only a 9-3/4 inch wide LP, not the common 12 inch size. At first glance I thought it was a 78

''Instrumentally Yours'' by Grady Martin.
Grady Martin was the guitarist for a very large number of famous artists like Elvis, Brenda lee.
Roy Orbison and many others.
I consider him " the best guitar player'' period

Well, not buy. so a bit OT... the husband of one of my wife's friends has given me over 50 LP's of 1970's to 1990's allegedly popular music (Stones, Doors, Steely Dan, Deep Purple, Santana, Ocean, etc... and many names I've never hear of.) I had a quick listen to some of the tracks... not my cup of tea! So, I'm keeping about 6 sort-of "collectible" ones (but what do I know?) and am trying to trade the rest for a few decent classical piano LP's.
Disclaimer: this is not a sale or trade offer... just general interest, which it might or might not be!
Cheers,
Roger

I got 3 new pressings of Elvis a 1960s Compilation and a 1950s Compilation lps. I have to say the quality of the pressings is very good, very heavy vinyl.
I remember towards the end of vinyl being commonplace in shops how light weight some of the pressing where.
