absolutely EVERYTHING I heard on the New Year's Eve shows tonight.

...absolutely everything...

I'm so glad I was at a house which was full of people and having a complete blast.

Thank you Mike, and a delayed welcome to this "demented" ARF website. Well, at least this subject is. It reminds me of Dr. Demento, if you are old enough to remember his show!

Brought a tear to my eye but i was a little disappointed. Was hoping it was a Polka with somebody farting the melody or at least the beat. Is it OK to say farting on this site? If this word offends you. Use what ever word you want. Better yet don,t read this

please add Super Bowl 50 Half Time Show to the list.

i've never witnessed such crap in my entire life.

if THAT'S what music has become AND was set up to be seen on Super Bowl Half Time Show, anyone involved in that decision should have their head examined and should be put on medication.

no wait, they should be locked up.

 and/or  (both apply)

Steve, I think the SB halftime music tragedy you are referring to is called a "music malfunction"...similar to the "wardrobe malfunction" a few years back...

There used to be a youtube video for it, the girl in the video acts just as good as she sings.

So many awful songs, so little time. Has anyone on the previous 10 pages or so mentioned Sammy Davis Jr.'s "Candyman"? One of the most annoying songs ever! But then there is anything and everything by KC & the Sunshine Band to give it competition.

Actually Dylan sounded halfway decent singing Lay Lady Lay.

That was a very processed sounding voice. I always thought Dylan lowered himself to team up with Johnny Cash. (Now it's time to put on MY flame retardant suit!) But to be fair they were both in it for the bucks and both cultivated particular images that changed to suit the times. Still, they seemed like an odd partnership. "Blood on the Tracks" was a good album. I liked "Tangled Up in Blue" especially. I only saw him play in concert once; that was at the old Concord Pavilion (which has since been renamed) around 1986. Neil Young was in Dylan's band then too. It was loud enough to split eardrums. Not actually very enjoyable. But I think Dylan in general holds up pretty well.

Thank you, Steve. Besides the attachment you posted being oh so true, I got my first really good laugh in this morning.

I heard a tragedy the other day...the Smashing Pumpkins doing a remake of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide in my sister's car. I think I started to seize up and had to quickly put in some Stevie Ray Vaughan to act as an antidote. It is hard to say yet if there is any permanent damage.

on saturday nights, the local fm blowtorch plays 80's music from 7 to 12. i had it going and fell asleep.

i woke up to some kinid of Lady Goo Goo "ra ra, ra ra ra, ooh la la, ga ga, crapola, good gawd jeezus almighty  .

i sat straight up in my bed and went down in the radio room to throw the switch from the tuner to the computer's audio.

it is 5 hours later, i'm awake this morning, and i'm still not over the trauma.

Why would you do that to yourself, Steve?

My 17 yo niece was over not long ago. She was playing some hideous song. The singer, if you can call it that, sounded like he he was inhaling helium and using autotune all at the same time. I asked her what was that crap...

She enthusiastically said "it's the Biebs!"

I briefly considered turning the living room into a crime scene...but common sense prevailed and I pulled the cord out of the wall and told her to never ever play that around me again. I would rather go to the dentist and have him do a root canal than be subjected to...well, what can I call it really without breaking rules here?
