I snapped the shaft off the brightness control on my newly acquired Crosley 9-408, an RCA 630 clone, while moving it. It's a 50K pot with a 2.75" long shaft 1/4" diameter. A google search turned up zip. If anyone has one in their spare parts bin I will gladly take it off your hands!

Thanks!

You could get a new 50K pot with a shorter shaft then use a shaft extender with a coupler. It is available at Radio Daze, both the shaft and coupler. Just cut it to the proper size and if it needs a half moon shaft at the end, just use a grinder or file to flatten the end to fit the knob. If link doesn't work just go to radiodaze.com and search for 1/4 inch shaft extender.

Would this do?

If the link doesn't take you to the pot, search for this part number:

785-53C150K

Farnell, Mouser and Digikey sites all have very good searches. Better than Google for rare stuff.

You link didn't work for me but I found it by part #. Nice control, but it's only has a 2" shaft and that's the longest Mouser has.

Thanks for all the information everyone! Looks like I'll probably go with Radio Daze as I also need grill cloth and a few other odds and ends.

If you go with Radio Daze don't forget to order not only the shaft but the coupler toward the bottom left of the page as well
