I finally succeeded in getting a raster out of this set...turned out to be a leaky capacitor connecting the "boost" voltage to the 220 v B+ voltage. But it takes the B&K to drive it, my horizontal oscillator circuit isn't oscillating. The troubleshooting continues.
------------------
Terrific Rene,
Chip, chip. chip away and when you run out of faults you'll have a good working set.
Now, if only you could chip away at the quality of the programs
Don Black.
------------------
Hi Phil,
I'll email you separately on the trials and tribulations of this set. It is stubborn, digging in all the way but I am slowly beating it. I now have raster and and get a decent test pattern on the screen using my 1077B. I will not work on anything else until this is fixed!
Rene
------------------
I am quite familiar with this set now, so I can help. There are some tv gurus in this forum that can help too. You might want to start a new thread for your tv.
Rene
------------------
After recapping, still no HIGH VOLTAGE??? Can anyone advise?
Is it the 430v boost voltage area?
I'm sure there are only 3-4 problems to check.
1 - I checked the fly - has continuity
2 -The 1v2 tubes seem weak, tho. Measures 35-45 0n B&K
3. sockets seems clean
4 -neon bulb lights up around 6BQ6 and pic tube area - but MAY not be high enough.
have not checked the boost volt. yet.
Any advice on HIGH VOLTAGE??
