Hello! I have an old Philco tv set and wanted to get some more information on it. It is ivory colored with the controls and a handle on the top. If someone could help me post a picture it would greatly be appreciated. If not, I can email you a picture. I have no idea how old it is or if it is or any value. Not quite sure what to do with it. I haven't been able to find one similar online yet, still looking. Thanks for your input!

It sounds like a Philco Seventeener.

Adding a picture is pretty easy, just browse for the photo file down below where it says "Upload Attachment" and click upload.

I have tried to upload it by attaching the file, but it says it is too big. Do you know how to get around that?

Set your camera to 640x480.

It looks similar to some in the link, but it does not have a base. It almost seems portable with the handle on the top. I am working on trying to get the photo on. I don't have my camera with me only the sd card. I have tried again to shrink it but am still having some problems. I'll keep working on it. Thank you for the feedback so far.

If you have windows picture and fax viewer; go into edit, left click Image, left click Stretch/Scew, then set -Stretch- horizontal and vertical to 25%. Then save to someplace for upload. That should get you in the ballpark.

Yep, that's a Seventeener, 1958-59 I believe.
Same CRT as the 17" Predicta.

It's collectible in it's own right but the value is all in the Picture Tube, assuming it's good.

The "picture tube" is the thing that makes the picture---in your photo, the big gray thing in the middle is the "face" of the picture tube.

You do not want to be turning this on to see if it works until some key parts are checked and/or replaced.

No, what I meant is the large glass tube, the face of which displays the picture.

These sets wouldn't be worth much except that the Picture tube fits another set that is worth a lot, namely the Philco Predicta Princess model (and other variations of it like the Siesta).

Of course it would be nice to know if the tube is good but you need a CRT tester to find out.

I have one of these but I'm not going to sell the tube, mainly because it's the remote version and interesting in it's own way.
