I think the Motorola would be the simplest of the three.

Motorola would probably work well restored but the RCA would work better. :)

That Motorola isn't all that simple (in case anyone was thinking it was an Electrostatic set, it isn't), they are great performers though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvVt7lppTKQ

The National 7" should be fairly simple though I've never actually worked on one to say for sure.

One good demo deserves another: I just uploaded this clip of my 9TW333 which uses the same chassis as the 8T241

Decisions, decisions!

I did a TV-7M a few months ago. It is the version in a metal cabinet with a signal strength/line voltage meter for testing reception in a customer's house. It was found in an estate sale basement of a TV repairman. All of the controls except the tuner were frozen, front and rear. I managed to take them apart and free them up...all except one which I broke. I replaced all of it's caps then tested them for fun. Every single one was leaky.

Here is a picture I shot after replacing about 6 of the two-dozen resistors that had changed value. It is a very simple set to work on. Plenty of room under the chassis. A well-built set like National's boatanchor communications receivers. Do you have the version with a power transformer or the one without a transformer? Mine has a transformer.

Personally, I like the looks of the Motorola better. The bigger screen will be easier to watch. I think the one you choose would depend on the condition of the CRT's.
