I had a long discussion going on over in the clubhouse in a topic called "another new member." I was asking about a Zenith tv set that my family had when I was a kid. Curtis was and is very helpful and he suggested that I post his picture here and ask if anyone recognizes it. This is a drawing and the set looks much like the drawing but there may be some slight differences. Anyone know the model number? Thanks, Dennis

I think it's a Zenith Super Wizbang model 7, with the optional UHF tuner and Hi-fi sound.

Hi Dennis, I think what Johnnysan meant to say is that it'll be pretty much impossible to figure out the model without seeing the picture.

The good thing is that being a Zenith it should be very easy to identify once we see it.

Another option is to go to eBay and look at old TV advertisements, search for "Zenith TV Ad*" and add a year like 1959 to the search, or 196* which will bring back everything in the 1960s.

Last resort, take your Photo to Kinkos or Office Depot and have them scan it for you, save it at 600 pixels wide and then upload it here or at Fliker.

Well that did not work either. Not sure what I am doing wrong but for sure I am doing something wrong. I have been looking at Zenith ads on e-bay for some time without seeing this model. The picture is in a family photo album, maybe I can borrow it and get a copy.

Is the attachment you wanted?
A copy of the photo would be better.

YES! I will not ask how you did that because it would go in one ear and out the other. Computers and I have a love hate relationship. I will work on getting a picture of the set, but it will take a while. In the mean time, thank you very much. DD

I believe that is it! I do not recall the knob being that large under the channel selector, I seem to recall a small volume control, but this may be an optional UHF tuner. Also, our set was very dark walnut. This seems to be a prop for a TV show, was it Green Acres? Kind of funny, our family prize TV set a prop for a pig.
Does anyone know the model or chassis number? Thanks, DD

Electronic Memory has identified it as a 1959 model, specifically B2254 'The Dover'. It probably is not identical to the set you remember but hopefully that info will get you close.

Steve K earlier identified it as a set from the 1960 line, but added that the brochure from which he sourced his info only showed remote sets.
