hello Guys,
I'm getting ready to move my unrestored motorola tv model Vt-105 ,
300 miles across the state to my new home Where I want to restore it.
Does the picture tube in this set need to be removed like with those Rca 8t241 sets that use the poor picture tube mounting.
far as this set goes I have not checked to see if it's jug is any good but do have a rebuild one to use.

Any way I don't want the set to get damaged any going over the mountains.

Sincerely Richard

I have a VK-106, which uses the same chassis. I transported mine from Minnesota to Michigan in a U-Haul trailer. The CRT is securely attached to the chassis, so just ordinary care and precautions in securing it for transport should be just fine.

I had mine shipped cross country by UPS with no problem, the box looked like they rolled it the last 100 miles.

That includes making sure that the CRT mounting hardware and chassis are snugged down. Don't assume that the previous owner left them tight. I have found plenty of old radios & TVs with chassis screws loose or missing, etc.
