Recognize this circa 1952-54 TV ?

That vintage is my guess... I'm thinking this is a genuine vintage photo.

I've modified the photo like this...

Want to use it in a PowerPoint presentation... Should be worth a smile or two. The caption would be:

Despite her smile, the flickering images of TV-DX at certain times in the year were a significant annoyance for a majority of people living in suburban and rural districts in the age of analog Television.
Especially on the low band VHF channels 2-6.

Probably one of the independents, I have seen Majestic (built by Wilcox-Gay) sets with that identical speaker grille cutout and cloth, likely around 1951-52. But those had a gold colored plastic control door below the screen, which this one does not.

I have no doubts it's a real TV and the photo is probably from that era, although no way to prove that unless you found it in an old advertisement or magazine. A Google image search shows no results.

Just noticed a clue... The bezel is tilted down. Probably to prevent reflections of the viewers.
There is some sort of badge between the knobs but not enough for me to say more.

Almost looks like the brand name has intentionally been airbrushed out of the photo, but not very well. Of course, no one would have been looking there..........

Brightened up the photo to show the pencil box. IMO it provided no further clues.

I agree that it's probably an independent or a store brand like Coronado. The Bezel is very generic.
I think it's a bit earlier, possibly 1951 because it seems to have a metal CRT, note the thick insulator around the screen.

Pretty sure the Model is Bettie Page.

Looks very similar, but I don't think that is her.

Bettie Page eh? WELL ! I had to enter that into Google Image search. The most interesting search I've done today :D
Found one facial angle pretty close to this and I think you nailed it...

Kind-of thought this image might show up on the search but no... As I recall now, I think it was on an Italian web site about TV history...

This may be a colorized B&W photo.
The tv reminds me of a Hoffman
