OK. Heres the story, first I suggest you run get some tissue,or a bucket. As when I found these I almost cried, and got sick. This gentleman called me one day and told me he had several radios and wondered if I would like to buy some. he told me that he had received them when a friend had passed. He told me the person that had these told him they were worth money and even if not save the tubes and knobs. When I arrived he led me to a shed opened the door and here were at least 300 radios several hundred tubes tubs of knobs. these radios were thrown into this shed(And I mean Thrown) all here and there several broken. The roof had holes in it,needless to say several were distroyed. So here I am 62 yrs old not much money bad back, and (not smart enough to fix all these let alone I will not live long enough). I have to rescue these radios. Now some Questions.
Whats the best way to clean and polish plastic. how to fix cracks and breaks in plastic and when is it not cost effective..
I would also like to know were I can sell some of these, including parts and pieces or maybe even trade.
Heres something funny As I am unloading these I have to try and see if some of them work. I tried fi ve and every one fired right up some were loud enough to knock off some of the dirt. :D :D LOL. Thanks in advance. I will probably be listing some of these here soon. If you need parts let me know. PS there are two royal 500's one long distance and a royal 250. along wi9th several motorola's.

There are a number of threads on the subject of plastic polishing; you might use the search function.

The classified forum here is one venue for sales, and of course eBay is another.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't see anything there that is particularly rare or valuable. Perhaps there are some hidden gems, but what is shown look fairly common.

American badges on solid state radios, such as the RCA's and G.E.'s shown, don't really fetch much. If you find any Japanese nameplates, they will have some value. Red colored radios will as well, if they at least have Civil Defense marks on their dial, which dates them.

I agree with fifties about not seeing anything particularly rare or valuable there but, hey, you never know. I found a good way to dispose of unwanted transistor radios here in the Classifieds was in groups that would fit into the 12" x 12" USPS flat-rate boxes. But please remember the rule about no buying or selling in the discussion forums.

Thanks for your responses I guess I left the wrong message so to clarify ; I really didn't save these from disaster to make money So no bubble was busted :D . I was just thinking that maybe I could have other collectors save some of these with me and recope just some of my money ,along with the pleasure of seeing these saved. As i do not picture I will live long enough to do all of them myself There is a lot more to the story as the guy who had these had no respect for these, and would have distroYed all.

I wouldn't worry about trying to fix -mechanically or cosmetically- most of what's shown. Group a number of them together, as Dave suggested, and display them here in the classifieds, or on eBay, as fixer-uppers, and they'll go.

If you discover any tube sets, offer them separately; the guys here will jump all over them, lol.

And BTW, 62 ain't all that old...I remember it well, and I am just ornery enuff to live a lot longer, eh eh.
