Hi all- Can anyone tell me if they've heard of this radio? The brand name is "Comet", it's in a leatherette case, says 'American Made" and it appears to be a TRF. Mine plays great, great sensitivity but lousy selectivity. See the punchouts on the chassis that look like they were for IF transformers! Old style construction. I'm going to try to attach two photos and not embarrass myself in the process. Here goes!

I'll yank the chassis to see what's underneath and post a pic. I'm sure I had it apart when I got it 20+ years ago but I don;t remember. The tuning cap suggests Superhet but it sure performs like a TRF.

...that's a dual-gang tuning cap all right, but unless I'm not seeing something right, it looks like only one section is actually connected to anything...lot of unused lugs on there...
