I am looking for a speaker for my Admiral All World multiband Transistor radio; Model Y1009B. The speaker is a rather simple 4" X 6" 12-16 ohm PM speaker. If anyone knows of a good old radio speaker source I would love to hear about it. I found one resource that will recone speakers but I think the voice coil is damaged on the one I have so that may not work? Any ideas welcome!!
By the way, I have a 4" x 6" 4-6 ohm PM Speaker that came out of a Zenith TO Royal 1000/3000......would that work or do the ohm ratings need to be exact? Thanks, Bob
Then give Greg a call if you don't see exactly what you need. Greg has forgotten more about speakers than anyone in their right mind would ever want to know about them.

Try a strategically placed wad of cotton between the frame to push the cone to one side so that it does not rub and distort. A temporary measure at best...

I would try the T/O speaker to see if the distortion persists. You may not get the same volume as from the original speaker because of the impedance difference, but it won't hurt to try. At least that will tell you if the original speaker is, in fact, bad.
