My grandma gave me a Precor micro radio when I was 8 y/o. They came out in 1965 and she didn't use hers anymore so I got it. I had it until I was 12 and it disappeared after a "friend" stayed the night. He thought it was very cool for a radio to be that small. Even though his mom searched his room it never turned up.

I used to listen to it under my pillow when I was supposed to be sleeping.

So 36 years later I scored one in perfect shape with the box, original carbon batts and the ear phone. So in a sense I got my radio back. I really don't need a mini AM radio but it's like getting a little piece of my childhood back.

It has a nice clean clear sound for it's size. And with all the OEM pieces it might be worth more down the road then what I bought it for.

It would be the best kind of Karma if the kid who originally stole your radio had something that he now treasures disappear.
Stranger things have happened :!:

By the time he was 14 he was in and out of juvenile detention for shop lifting and vandalizing. He had no dad and his mom just didn't have enough starch to keep him inline.

But yes it would be interesting to find out if karma did indeed bite him in the backside.

No dad would be a real good reason why he was a delinquent.

That radio would have far more value to you, as you say, as a piece of your childhood, than you would ever get selling it down the road. Hang onto it and enjoy it.

I have one of those Precor micro radios. It's the green version. It still works.but the controls are shot. This was my moms .I think she won it from something she entered. She gave it to me years later with the box . I have to check the tuning cap out due to its intermitting when touching it.
