Fifties: Luckily most of these radios are small and they display neatly in my home office and
my basement man cave. I also have two smaller rooms in my basement that I store the
"less than stellar" radios. I'd say about 85% of my radios are visible. I make sure they do
not overwhelm the rest of the house - that keeps my wife happy. (she actually likes radios so
I'm lucky)

tubeAMP: I've been collecting for about 16 years and it's been a slow process. I have a pretty
good network of pickers and antique dealers in my area who keep an eye out for me.
I also network with many other collectors in Canada. In my area (south/central Ontario) there
are many radio collectors I've connected with over the years.
Ebay is another great resource and local online classifieds. It's amazing how many great radios
I've found on Kijiji over the years.
In the spring and summer I attend several large antique shows and flea markets.
For about five years I attended the big Extravaganza show in Lansing and was fortunate to buy some
really top notch radios there. I'd like to do the Kutztown, Pennsylvania show in the future as it seems to be the new
premier radio meet.
Canada is a great place for transistor radios, especially the early Japanese stuff. We were the first country
in the world to import Sony radios (almost two years before the U.S.A.)

michaeljpro - Thanks for sharing photos of your transistor radios and disclosing how you have managed to assemble such a great collection. I wondered why so many vintage transistors are for sale on eBay from Canada.

Be sure to view the collection of member Radiotech_7 which he originally posted here. The unusual and strikingly beautiful radios that he showed drew so many comments that it was split off to become it's own thread:

Those are beauties, Christophe, and some are models that I've never seen. Maybe they were just available in Europe.

^ I don't think that I've ever seen a "local-DX" switch on a vertical "shirt pocket" size radio.

Christophe - Wow, the recent additions to your collection of radios is impressive, especially given their condition!

There is very little collector of transistor radios in Europe:
I bought yesterday a new Regency TR1 Mahogany, never used: +/- $ 350... :D
Here is another radio, made in France:

Christophe...I hate you; my Mahogany set me back almost 5 bills, and that was 10 years ago.

Let's see a scan of it, so I can hate you even more, anticipating how pristine it'll probably look as compared to mine.

Here are some of mine. I've wanted to post them for a while and thanks to a rainy day I had time to take some photos.
First up is an Archer 60-4010 dated on the back Dec 1978. I bought it at Radio Shack probably around that time.
Second is a ARO Satellite radio. Don't know much about it. Battery cover missing, maybe had model # on it.
Third is a pair of GE "Blue Max" P2760A radios from the 60's and a GE ad.
Fourth is a Hyman Baseball radio NIB and dated 1987. The covering is stitched just like real baseball.
Fifth is an Orion TR117 also NIB. Also has earphone in small pouch, forgot to set out when taking photo.
Last is a Sony TR-1819 that my father bought new when it was introduced.
Lots of great radios pictured here, thanks to all. I'll add some more another day.
Al

Nice ones. I had the Midland version of the 100 mW CB like your Realistic. I connected my dads 15m ham radio ground plane and talked several miles with it and surprised people when they found out what it was.
