Hi guys: I bought an NC-44 recently, to restore as a surprise for a friend of mine (it was his first rcvr back in the late '50s). The schematic in any on-line manual I've found is pretty much unreadable (I can't determine the values of the components). This one appears to be the battery version, but any of the three would be a big help. I'm not adverse to paying for a good manual if anyone can point me to one.
TIA, Ralph, VE7XF

Tnx, Rodger - I have that one, as well as the .DJVU manual, but I have to use a lot of imagination to be able to guess at the component numbers. I was hoping that I might scare up someone with an original or the Rider manual.
Now to find an NC-81X for myself - my first commercial rx (after the 3 tube regen and the BC-454). I remember wondering why manufacturers bothered to put the 10 meter band on radios, as there was nothing there anyway (1955). Then came 1957!

Ralph,
I have some of the Rider's manuals, I will check to see if I have the volume with the NC-44 in it when I get home tonight. If so I will scan it for you.

I believe the NC-46 schematic has very similar values for common circuits. Its my daily kitchen eating area receiver to listen to the BCB and some 75-40M daytime AM chatter; great PP audio from the matching speaker. That came from VE6 and looks like it just came out of the box.
A NC-81X arrived here late last year after years of searching and its a nice one. Havent got to it yet.
