This weekend I have been spending some time reading through old issues of Radio magazine hoping to find some information about a Sargent 21-MA receiver I will soon have on the bench. That hasn't been successful (yet) but I have come across a lot of interesting articles which has slowed down the search process. One is about a high performance receiver for 20, 10, and 6 meters and extensive construction details were provided. I attached a jpg of the first page and I have the entire article in a PDF file but I don't think this site allows those attachments.

Although I may not find anything about my early Sargent marine receiver this is one instance where the journey is worthwhile even if I don't reach the goal :) I think Radio is of better technical quality than QST and definitely has quite a few interesting articles.

I agree fully. The very fine Library at the Historic Electronics Museum near Baltimore-Washington (BWI)
airport is a good place to read old issues of Electronics and other less common magazines.
