Hello all,

I recently picked up the 8-tube 1931 version of an Echophone S5 cathedral radio for $75! Is this a good price for the radio? It has a few tears in the original grille cloth and some scratches and imperfections in the finish, as well as a small veneer chip and a small dent in the top of the cabinet. Other than that, it is stable. Sorry, no pics. I haven't started restoration on it, since I have other projects that I am working on. Overall, how did I do?

(Note: I posted this in the Electrical Restoration section because I will later on use this thread for restoration progress and questions I may have about the electrical aspect of the radio)

Also, is there anything I should look out for when restoring this set? Is it a good performer? On first inspection, the output trans and the field coil measure good. I haven't checked the power transformer yet.
