 Post subject: Grundig HVS-1 Reverb Unit Repair

It came the time to finally fix my "as-is" reverb, with issues, that I purchased to use with my 5490 radio.

It almost worked, but barely.
Bottom line.......Coil form distorted, binding the armature sections. Old age of plastic and outgassing, I guess.
A jeweler's file fixed that.

Since these units aren't too common, figured I'd pass along the failure symptom and cure tip to others and show the innards of one of the magnetic transducers.

A reverb isn't a "must-have" option, but it's like wanting the optional MPX adapter for that SABA table radio.....with a channel separation of about eight inches....Anyway- here 'tis.

If you can't fix it, you can probably scrounge one up from somone parting out an old organ. New tanks are also available and not very expensive.

Well, I did fix it.
Any punk can get another tank. Having the original work as it should is what I try to do here. <g>
