I obtained a Philco 51B on E-Bay. It was in pretty bad shape. It looked like it had been in water for years, completly rusted. After cleaning it up and replacing the e-caps the old radio came to life! I have rebuilt the backlight caps and the sound improved. Now for the problems.

The box with 5 caps contains .1, .15, .25 and 2-.5mf caps. I cannot find the individual size of the caps? When disconnected each measures 1.4 mf ? How can I find the individual size?

I got most of the rust off but for the gang condenser. Is there an easy way to remove the rust from the gang condenser?

I cannot find an alignment procedure for this radio. It is hit or miss! Is there an alignment procedure?

I can't find anything specific to a 51B but found this;

It's from a 50 but may be the same?

Nostalgia air has the schematic for a 51, the 51 and 52 are supposed to have the same chassis as the 51B baby grand.

The schematic I linked to has the same condenser block and values,have you compared the connections to your 51B?

Yes it is the same and I have identified all the cap. :D Now should I replace them? The radio sound vary good for a 5" speaker! It is a very touchy radio. Every tine I change some thing out it stops working and I have to monkey with the alignment to get it going. That is why I need a percedre.
