Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about cleaning a gold plated chasis ?.the radio in question is a 1928highboy model.

Detergent and water, but I expect this is gold paint. I've seen copper-plated chassis but never gold.

Thanks I will try that. I think you are right it is more likely gold paint.
