It is the .1 mfd cap you have circled in the top left corner of schematic.

Correct!

Continue the process of identifying all the connections to the capacitors in the cans. For each one that I marked on the schematic, there is some unique feature like a tube pin that identifies it. You successfully found the first one, so you should be able to find the others. Start with the other two in the list of 3 that I posted.

Did you find the two 8uF caps?

No I did not really look for the two 8 mfd caps but there are two transformer like units under the chassis could that be them.

This radio schematic I am having problems identifying parts and tubes so with that being said it will be difficult to describe things to you guys to help me so is there a better detailed schematic or could some one help me with this thanks.

Here is two pictures of what I believe to be the 8 mfd caps

Most of those pictures do not provide much information, but I'm pretty sure that can in the first picture contains the tow 8uF caps. A check of the wiring will confirm.

With respect to finding things in the chassis, let's go one step at a time:

1. Have you identified each tube socket? If not, trace what ever wiring is required to determine which tube it is---some are easy: there is only one type 80 (rectifier) and there are two 45s (output tubes). The RF tube (51) will have connections to the antenna and tuning capacitor. The 1st detector (51 also) will have a connection to the RF tube, and also to the 1st IF transformer.

Tell me which tubes you cannot identify, and we'll take it from there

Here is a markup on the schematic showing some major elements:

You probably need to do some more reading so that you are comfortable with these circuit elements and what they do.

the next step is to identify all these elements in the chassis. Start with the tubes.

I have identified these many caps on schematic so far
.1 mfd to cathode of rf amp tube 51
.1 mfd to cathode of 1st det tube 51
.1 mfd to g2 of 1st det tube 5
.1 mfd to .002 cap and on to plate 2nd det tube 227
2mfd cap goes to audio interstage trans and to 20000 ohm resistor
.1 mfd cap goes to rf coil and on to plate rf amp tube 51

here is the rest
.1mfd to osc coil and on to catode pin 4 1st det tube 51
.1 mfd to pin 3 g2 of rf amp tube 51
.1 mfd osc coil and on to pin 4 1st det tube 51
.5 mfd goes to pin 3 of 1st det tube 51
2 mfd goes to speaker plug and goes to if transformer

Mostly right, but I spotted some errors. Have you checked this against the diagram I posted previously? (I'll list my corrections when I have time---but you may beat me to it...)

What I have been asking you to do is to find these connections in the chassis---this is required to help you answer your earlier questions about confirming the right values for the various capacitors. (You will recall there were some discrepancies)

One step is for you to identify on the chassis which tube is which. Tracing the connections is part of that.

Still working on it but can not figure out the tube placement for some reason but if someone wants to help that would be great if not I will put it aside thanks.
