Would love to fix this volume issue for my wife for Christmas. It sounds like a capacitor issue? Volume clear but extremely low. I live in a remote village so must fix at home. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

I believe your model number to be SFF2503ET1. If so it has a tuner, amp, and a Zenith 169-144 (V-M 1201) changer. So "low volume" is not enough information. Since you mention Christmas, want to play them Christmas records? Just guessing but no matter everyone will need to know if tuner and amp has been recapped, etc. Has changer been lubed and cleaned etc. If your radio plays loud it could be you just need a new cartridge/needle for changer. Provide more information then folks will help I'm sure.

Thank you for the information. That ts correct model number, but original owner never bought this tuner (ft11). What does the amp look like? Can not find a schematic, And not shown in operating manual. Again all I receive is a clear low volume sound. Nothing seems to have been replace, I know for sure no work has been done on unit for 20 years? Which parts can I clean?

"That ts correct model number"

If you mean SFF2503ET1 is correct and you are going to fix it then you need to order from SAMS Photofact Service site:

SAMS 594-18 Amp plus

SAMS 436-18 Record Changer

If not I don't know for SFF2503ett. You could post some pictures as large as this site permits.
