Hi everybody,
Where is the best place to buy small amounts of veneer?
I need it to fix broken pieces on the slats in front of the speaker.
I would say it is about1/32nd thick.

Thanks for the help
Doug

Check on "that auction site." Often for sale are collections of small pieces of veneer.

You could check in the yellow pages for a cabinet shop or a woodworking shop in your area. The one I worked at had a collection of off-cuts and we regularly cleaned them up and threw them out. Also, the local borgs (Home Depot, Lowes, etc) work with cabinet makers to do their kitchen & bath installations. They might be able to give you name of a small shop that would have veneer off-cuts.

You could also check this out : http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.a ... ,250,43217

It may be more than you wish to spend, but you'll have enough for other projects for a while .... :)

You may be one of the fortunate ones who is able to repair every radio you obtain. I am not one so fortunate, so I just use veneer off of the old cabinet for small areas. An old cabinet should be cheap.

Ed,
These are very easy to fix since they are raised off the face of the cabinet.
I have a Crosley Fiver compact 517 that i am not so lucky with all the veneer is shot.
Its like somebody left it out in the rain. The chassis is in great shape now have to find a new
cabinet for it this one is not worth fixing.

Ask in the BST. There are lots of members re-veneering radios and they end up with scraps....

I found this place on Epay. Not to bad for just scraps but big enough to to do small fixes.
I was reading on another thread that some body was having trouble finding pieces
for inlay work this would be perfect.
