I have done a couple radio's so far and have used tone lacquer on them to get desired color match on one I used sanding sealer and lacquer to finish it on another I just used just lacquer they both turned out very nice and didn't look restored ( or brand new) I keep hearing about shellac has anyone used this??? does it work better than what I've used so far??? What are some new methods I could try???............Thanks Guy's

I think some people use shellac as a sanding sealer, or to fill grain pores. I use grain filler to get a smooth surface, then go straight to lacquer from there. Everyone has their own favorite methods and materials, so experiences vary.

That's what I was thinking I just didn't know if it worked any better or worse than grain filler or sanding sealer. I kind of figured it may just be preference but I always like to ask about things I'm not sure of just in case there is something that may or may not be better.......Thanks
