I am trying to do my first major restoration where veneer is peeling and missing. I assume I should remove the old veneer and apply new veneer, what type of wood veneer do you think i should buy to match? At least on the sides and top?

Also how should i go about the front? It has design grooves and only a couple small sections on the grill is missing, I am not sure how to recreate the grooves if just replaced the small section:

Hard to tell from the pics but walnut on the top would look nice--or mahogany. Then I would use scraps of veneer from the top to patch the front. Does the rest of the front look ok?

Here's a question The bottom back side corners look like they got get and some termites chewed a bit. The rest of the cabinet has not damage or weathering at all, I already made a couple new wood pieces to match the originals but I was thinking I would fill in the damage with epoxy? Does that seem like a the correct type of fix a professional would do?

Epoxy is a bit overkill , use regular wood putty .

Well wood putty wouldn't give me the strength I needed to rebuild the corners from the rot. J&B have a newer product called "wood weld" a wood specialty epoxy. I am actually very happy with the results. I was just afraid that the wood putty would easily chip off when bumped.

The rear corners:

I also used the epoxy to fill in all huge splits in the exposed plywood on the bottom front:

Also removed the veneer on the top, complete right side and bottom of left side due to it be wayyyy to damaged to repair:

Using side veneer to replace front veneer that was missing:

When i have run into that i cut the damage off and glue a piece of wood back on it and sand it down .
