I've never seen a Radiola 33. I know the Radiola Guy (Sonny) has or used to have one but it didn't have legs that I could see. I've got one with a chunk missing at the top of one of the legs where it screws into the base and I'm not sure how to repair it. Not even sure what type of metal it is. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks, Johnny

They are made of pot metal,I have a 33 with 3 good mounting brackets and one broken one so it's now a table model. There used to be a guy here the did metal casting but he has left. Phil

Quote: I've never seen a Radiola 33. ...(but).... I've got one with a chunk missing at the top of one of the legs ..... The Radiola 33 legs are formed steel that attach to the radio's wooden baseplate with screws - no potmetal. The CABINET has potmetal trim on all corners and the lid. If you need a corner I may have a useable spare free for postage. Maybe you have a different radio?

Well if the O.P. doesn't need it I sure do,it's one of the fronts but I'd have to find the legs to be sure. Pretty sure fronts are different from rears but I'm going by memory. Phil

Dave I don't need a corner piece. Appreciate the offer though. Need a whole leg unless this one can be repaired. Can this type of metal be repaired? Johnny

Johnny, I really wonder what you're looking at. A picture would be helpful. The correct original legs as shown in this Radiomuseum photo are formed sheet steel. I wouldn't describe a missing area of such a part as a "chunk" but damage or a patch could be soldered with a propane torch and painted over.

I'll see if I can get a picture for you. This is just a fella that knows I work on antique radios and asked if I knew how to repair it. He says it's pot metal.
