Well the prep looks good. Only know one: the Philco 16. Watch with interest, too early here for much more progress.

I believe it is a Philco 71 and an Atwater Kent 84, not sure what the third set is!

Correct on the Identification of the Philco and the Atwater Kent. I don't remember the identification on the small one and don't have the chassis at the moment to verify it. But I think it is a "cute" cathedral.

Hey Gary,

I have not finished the 12S267 yet. I got all the repairs made, sanded and stained the cabinet, filled the grain, and applied a first coat of lacquer

Here is a picture after filling the grain and a second one with the first coat of lacquer. I got involved in a few other things, but it is on my short list of things to complete. I have to tone it and detail lit and shoot it with several more coats of lacquer and then polish and wax. But it is turning out nice and I am very happy with the veneer repairs on the curved surfaces.

I started writing that up for "Radio Age" and will detail the project. Did you ever subscribe to Radio Age?

Joe

Is that a Rhythm King in the background?

Hi Bill,

Yes that is an Arvin Rhythm King in the background. It is in the process of being re-refinished. I did a horrible job on it the first time, way too dark, so we are going to make it look like it should. This is one I want to use Crystalac grain filler on since it is neutral, but I am not so sure I am using it properly. Will experiment on the cathedrals until I get it right. Have been looking at some You Tube videos but a little apprehensive.

The Rhythm King is a very nice radio, two chassis, two speakers and a very large and beautiful dial, in a relatively small cabinet.

Nice radio. I have a few of the series (the smaller ones). Always keep watch for a King or Queen! Maybe someday...
