Philco 40-190. Not a high end radio but I think the cabinet looks pretty good. I've been pretty lucky in the last few radios that I could leave the finish as is with just a cleaning. This one had cracking and flaking lacquer in more than one spot so I stripped it down.

Very nice job! Must have been quite a chore removing the old finish and sanding all the various surfaces. Nice choices on your colors as well.

Exquisite! Leaves my 40-180 in the dust, by comparison.

Almost no sanding on this. Just remove old lacquer and light sanding to remove any raised up grains of wood after stripping.

Jim83- On this one I used a shade lighter min wax stain to make the color of the veneer pop out. The solid wood parts I darken a little than used a toner on the base, columns and grill. Then sprayed 3 coats of lacquer.

Very nice! It really makes those pilasters stand out- exactly what the designer must have intended.
