Recently acquired an Atwater Kent Model 55 console in a trade with one of my co-workers (who is also the V.P. of the Michigan Antique Radio Club). The cabinet is in decent shape, but is missing the speaker mounting board and grille cloth. The speaker was replaced at some point with a 1930's vintage one (which I want to replace with the correct F4 speaker).

The only marking in the entire cabinet is a "2" stamped in the wood at the back of the cabinet (see photos).

First, can anyone ID the most likely manufacturer?

Second, can someone direct me to a currently available grille cloth pattern that would be appropriate for this set?

Thanks!

No clues? How many manufacturers actually made console cabinets for the A-K 55?

This is the only AK 55 with a similar cabinet that I have found so far: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ ... io-working

I have seen several that are similar to mine, but not identical. So I am guessing that there may have been a LOT of little independent manufacturers, as well as bigger ones like Pooley, Red Lion, etc., who made cabinets for this model of radio...
