 Post subject: Need Ideas For Cabinet Touchup

I've had this GM 140A radio for a while now. I finally finished the chassis restoration less the power transformer that had to go out for rewind. It's finally on it's way back.

This cabinet is beautiful 1929 deco. The finish is good but in a couple of places that you can barely see in this picture, the finish is flaking off. A complete refinish is out of the question. Just too original to do that. I was going to apply a MinWax paste wax and polish it. But I'm really open to better ideas, suggestions etc.
