I recently came by a Krohn-Hite 430-AB audio oscillator. I rather enjoy Krohn-Hite’s old tube test equipment, as they make heavy use of vacuum tube op amps.

Does anyone have a scan of a manual for the 430-AB that they could share?

I got it from a fellow that said the previous owner of his house was an engineer from MIT who had left the oscillator behind in the basement. It has some signs of water damage, but hopefully the transformer and filter choke were spared. If so, I’ll be able to restore it.

Based on the front panel controls, it appears to cover from 5 Hz to 500 kHz, with up to 10 volts output.

Those oscillators are very handy units to have - I have the HP 200CD and GR 1210-C. You can expect more than 10V out to impedances greater than 1k Ohm or so. I've driven little 400hz motors with my 200CD, and my unit oscillator will like a electroluminescent panel - full output at 6KHz and it's bright!

Pretty flat too - my unmolested 1210-C is flat to beyond 500Khz, with less than a half-dbm variance through all the ranges.

Didya get a manual? - sadly, all my K-H lit is for HP/LP/BP filters.

No, I'm hoping someone here has one. None for sale on eBay. I'll ask Krohn-Hite directly, as they did come up with a manual for a 330M for me a couple of decades ago.

Krohn Hite still has the manual. They're selling me a copy for $35.

Thank you Martin. I received the manual from Krohn-Hite in the mail last week. If Matt would like a scan of it, please let me know.
