I was having trouble with my CA (which just turned out to be dirty controls) - but I went ahead and bought a few other units just in case I couldn't fix it right away. So now I also have the:

53/54K - fast rise time
L (LA-265-L?) - fast rise / high gain
M - 4 trace

I was really surprised at how well the fast-rise plug-ins worked - rated at 30mc, but they'll display something nice and clear well up to 40 or so, and will give me something (if I mess with the triggering stability control enough) well up into the 60s. It's like having a whole new and improved scope.

I was wondering what else is out there in the way of plug-ins (that'll fit the 545), particularly the earlier ones that still use the ceramic strips?

Here's one database. Note near the top are 1-series plug-ins (for the 500-sereis) and farther down are the older "letter"-series plug-ins. Back toward the front page to explore more of the site.

The Nelson-Ross spectrum analyzers are fun to look at, even if they won't tell you much.

Hi there Adam --

I think that pretty much any of the older letter-type plug-ins should work with your 545A.

There's everything from strain gage plug-ins, to interesting ones like the Type O, ( operational amplifier ).

Here's another reference site that may be of help to you -- http://www.barrytech.com/tektronix/vint ... ntage.html

Scroll down to roughly mid-way of the page, LOTS of stuff on the plug-ins !!

Best of luck !

Tom

Here are the ones I have. Most all will work in your 545.

Here is a partial family photo.

Another nice one to play with is the type E module. It will easily measure the output of phono cartridges and microphones

It's frequency response is really limited though. I think 20khz is the top frequency.

However its extremely high gain is what makes this fun to play with.
