found this in the barn pile I am going threw for shop tools and came across this thing
can't quite think what this thing is for
any use for old radios?
any ideas ?

Looks to be an automative tester for checking the opening and closing of distributer points. On the older cars that have distributers, you can adjust the dwell and timing to get the engine to run better or with more power.

thanks David,I could not find any thing on it on the net.
if it ant to use in the shop I think I will just use the box for an old superior instruments model 82 tube tester I have that needs one

out with the old and in with the new
the mystery box case is making a pretty nice case for an old tube tester I had on hand

time to put a new wire on the thing,
one goes to a switch and the other goes to a tube socket,dose it matter witch one is the hot ?
if so witch on goes on the tube socket

If you have the choice, the hot wire goes to the switch.
