I'm considering buying a Dynascan 177 VTVM from an auction site. Does anyone have any experience with this model or any recommendations ? Thanks !

They're good units. IIRC essentially the RCA/Viz 98C, with a built-in power supply for the resistance measurement circuit rather than a D battery.

I worked with them for several years in the radio-TV repair business. They're excellent VTVMs with no flaws or limitations. Note that they take a probe with a one-megohm resistor in series with the tip for DC volts. A slide switch on the probe shorts out the resistor for AC volts and Ohms measurements. The probes are around, and you can use generic ones from other manufacturers if necessary, but it's nice to find a 177 with an orignal B&K probe that's not broken or half melted.
