Like the title says, how many here still use the big Tek scopes on a regular basis? I've got two 545B units in daily use, plus the 575 curve tracer. There's a 7000 solid state mainframe with about every plug-in out in the garage, but I only haul that in every few years if I need the 350 MHz bandwidth. It's the tube boat anchors that keep me going.

They make good heaters.....:)

Almost exactly 50 years ago, I was working in a cal lab repairing and calibrating those monsters...so I do have fond memories. Now, I would have no room for one.

I have a 310A on my workbench and it gets regular use. I also have a 585A on a cart next to my workbench, but it is seldom used. The 585A is a good heater!

I have a Tek 317, but I haven't made bench space for it yet. I usually use my Tek 465 on a cart.

I'd like a 545, but I don't currently have the room. I hope there are still some 545's left in a few years, when I hope to get more space.

I have a 515A on one of my benches that I use occasionally. Since most of my work is in the field on transmitters I need something slightly more portable.

But, it is fun to use it at home when I do have the occasion. Pix is right, they do make good heaters!

I have a 555 that I use about anytime I'm working in the shop, along with a 453. Just bought one of those Tek 130 LC meters off ebay yesterday after I saw the recent post about them here. Trying to get another ebay seller to come off his silly price on a Tek S30 Delta standard unit with a reasonable offer today. 555 heats up the shop very well. Working on a 564 that's driving me nuts with a pwr. supply problem.

I had at least ten 500 series scopes at one time, but sold the last of them, my favorite 547 about 5 years ago or better.

Why did you sell it, Mike? Space?

Yep, just not enough room left for it, and the cart. I also had several plug-ins left that went with it. The guy got a very good deal, and I got room for new stuff. As you'll see when you click the pic.

+1. Yeah, the 555 Scope-O-Saurus and cart would have eaten up a lot of that room. :)

Still have and use a Tek 561, 564 and 310.
If I had the bench space or room for a cart I'd still have a 545B.
Would like to find one of their tube tracers!

My daily driver scopes are a TEK 7623 with 7A26, 7D15 and 7B53 plug-ins. Also a 5103N/D10 with 5A18N and 5B12N (I think) plug-ins and a junction tester I made in the blank space. However, I also have a 555 21A/22A, a 549, a couple of 544's, many plug-ins for those, R564B mod 121, 561, and a few plug-ins for those. All those scopes I use occasionally just because I like them. Also have a 575, but it needs help. Several others that I didn't mention. Some newer stuff too, like a 7844, a 5440, a 214, a 2714 and some other stuff I can't think of right now.

Someone should start a thread on what equipment they have both working and non working just for curiosity.

Most of my body parts seem to be functioning adequately. Brain is borderline.
No spares in stock.

I think it's great to keep this classic stuff doing useful work! On that room above, you know your'e in trouble when you have to start storing things sideways. I also like the shot where the test bench is being held up by the giant bungee cord.

Part with my beloved 7704A?

NEVER!

..the only problem is that I am getting old too and I have to re-learn how to use it every time - especially the freq counter and curve tracer plugins. But, it's worth it. Kinda like rewrapping your favorite old Christmas presents. Just like Christmas morning every day I head out to the bench!
