I just did the electrical part of the Stromberg Credenza and a sider from the slow turning platter all works as it should, I am running full voltage and the TT on 78 turn about 60, I have lubed what I thought should be including the motor shaft bearing ends all with a fine oil,
I am not a TT expert but I would sure like to keep the original TT in here.
I can check back later tonight to read and can spend time this weekend hoping to repair it.

That's a VM changer. Looks like the 1200 model. Pretty easy to clean once you've done a few. How is the idler? Is it soft/flexible? Usually they are hard as a rock. If it's still soft, it may just need turned if it's shiny. Those are good changers once they are serviced properly. I usually tear them all apart to get rid of the old lubriplate grease in there.

Are you certain that's the original changer? I think the 1200 model is from the late 1950s while the console has a late-40s look to it.

I found the issue to be the rubbers which hold the motor, They were a bit compressed and I was able to shim them up and now I am spinning on the proper speeds, It was actually on the next smaller step on the motor shaft,,, All working well now.
Another Question,
When the record plays to the end, Is the arm supposed to pick up and self park?

Providing the stabilizer arm is all the way down, the tone arm returns to the rest and the unit shuts off. If the stabilizer is up and to the right the tone arm will return and set down on the record at the 10 inch position and repeat until it is manually shut off.
