Any help, on a P12 coin accumulator diagram?? Finding a service manual for a P12 is tough, have not run across one yet. The coin accumulator in mine all the wires are dry rotted and gone. From what Ive seen of pic on the web, it looks wired different than what Ive seen in a 412 and 616. Does anyone have a manual they can scan that page and send me or draw a simple diagram? My email is Gmitchell@valleymeatsllc.com.

Thanks in advance!

Gary

I checked in the parts manual that includes the Wurlitzer P-12 and it does not show the "magazine switch" or
coin accumulator for the P-12. There is a basic drawing of the one for the P-10 and then the 312/412 but not
one for the P-12. It should be similar to the P-10's.

I did find the two photos of a P-12 "credit unit" on the web but there's not a lot of detail. You can find it directly
here: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/w ... ast-iron-w

Not sure if you already have the Parts Catalog (for multiple "woodies" P-10 through 716) but I can scan and
send the page with the P-10 credit unit and 312/412 if you need. Have you tried any of the other jukebox
forums online or any of the jukebox repair and restoration sites online? Here's a links page:

http://www.alwaysjukin.com/Adlinks.asp

Scroll down to the North Carolina, Lincolnton entry for Glenn Bynum and give him a call or email. He may have a
P-12 there and can photograph the magazine switch unit for you.
If I find anything else, I'll post again.

Please post photos of your credit unit here and also send me a larger file at my email. I've got photos of the magazine
switch from my Wurlitzer 400 that should be similar and also a copy of the wiring diagram that shows the connections
of the two plugs from the magazine switch to the junction box (magazine switch and magazine magnet).

I've got mt dad's P-12, and the accumulator looks just like the one in Ken's pictures. I'm going to have to search around a little to see if I can find the manual, but I think Ken covered what is contained in there... if I can find something definite to help out, I'll let you know.

Bob, can you post clearer photos of your accumulator? Do both sets of wires from it go to plugs or are they hard wired in?

I wish I still had my P-12 that I had years ago but the cabinet was rough and beyond my woodworking ability (as are most
Woodworking projects still...). I'm about 95% done with my Wurlitzer 400 and I've got a 412 that I'm working on now also.
Got a bad left hand/arm and back problems so everything takes much longer to do. I hope to finish both projects this year
Before the asteroid hits

I think I'll save up and look for a p-12 for next years project (if we all survive...).

Post some full view photos of the P-12 - complete mech too - for inspiration.

Thanks all for your help and direction!

Bob, that is a great looking jukebox, I have a soft spot for the 30's woody's! Also Liked Ken asked, any clear pic of the coin accumulator would be great!

Thanks again!

Well, let's see if the picture upload problems have been solved:

Ah, there we go! Sorry if I'm not the best photographer around, I have a hard time minimizing glare from the flash. Anyway, here is a shot of the back side, with back removed:

Here is the credit accumulator:

As far as the wiring, there is only one wire group that exits the accumulator, it disappears into that wooden channel that I originally thought was just part of the rear door frame molding! It goes down the left side, then into another channel that runs across the bottom, then inside another channel going up the right side, and then exits that channel into that bird's nest by the ballast lamp. I'm going to have to get down on the floor with a flashlight and a sketch-pad to trace where all the wires go...not an insignificant project for someone with my back problems! I may be able to do that this coming weekend...

Bob, Beautiful jukebox you've got there. Must stop drooling on my keyboard....
And Gary - according to the parts manual, the P-10 uses 25 watt colored bulbs and a 100 watt white frost
bulb I think in the ballast socket. Hopefully, someone can chime in with a wiring diagram from a P-12
cabinet. I haven't found a diagram on the web yet but I did see a photo of one cabinet that had the
diagram (although too fuzzy to make out...).

Bob, I feel your pain on the back problems. I have them too. Sometimes wish I collected stamps instead of
radios and jukes!

Found this photo on the web also. Looks like a 100 watt lamp and a 2.8 amp fuse.

Gary, here we go...It was in the "Manual of Instructions for Wurlitzer "Simplex" coin-operated Phonograph part one - P-12
part two - P-10". I was looking in the parts manual. These should still be available from Victory Glass:

23-3461 R-161A P-10 and 12 Combination Pkg. SPECIAL OFFER Consists of R-196 & R-161 $47.50.

Ah, thank you Ken! You've saved me from a trip down to the floor ("Help, I've squatted and I can't get up!"). Actually, I need to scrounge around and find the manual for the juke...maybe it's over at my house, instead of my dad's...

One day I may do a light-weight cartridge conversion on it, but it's not like I don't have lots of other radio projects to do. Luckily, the Atwater Kent big-box 20 you can see on the top of the juke, and the Philco 37-60 off to the right both work!

Gary, There's a current auction on Ebay that may have some useful photos:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Classic-Survivo ... 35ba1b2f52

If the link doesn't work, it's item number 230755610450. Three days to go on the auction so take a look at
the photos quickly.

Interesting...the one thing that mine was missing when my dad got it was the front cabinet door. He worked with the high-school wood-shop teacher that lived across the street from us to recreate one, but it was done without ever having seen one for real. I can see now that it should have more of that book-matched quarter-sawn oak veneer surrounding the glass. They didn't get the stain color quite right either...

Also, the one in the eBay ad has the mysterious moving tone-arm...in some shots it is where it belongs, up in the playing position, in other photos it is clamped to the shipping block down inside the lower cabinet!

One thing that my dad did when restoring ours was to paint gold into the horizontal grooves around the top, and the little leaf-shaped notches under the front door. I think he found evidence of that having been the original motif, but I'm not positive. I like it though. He also didn't like the plain silver-painted interior to the mechanism compartment, so he found a scenic poster to cut up and tape up to the back wall! I'm of mixed feelings about that "mod".

Thanks for pointing out that auction, I would have missed it. Dang, they put a lot of pictures in!
