Is it possible to add a switch or something to a 78 RPM player to all the playback of 33s? Or is there more to it than speed alone? Thanks.

in most cases it would be more trouble than its worth, it would be a lot of work to get a 78 only player to run 33, then you would need a catridge and stylus for 33.
Also the tone arm would have to have adjustment to make it light enough for 33
lots of variables to alter to make it work.

Your best option would be to swap out the original 78 rpm record changer for a newer multi-speed model. You'd probably have to modify the original motorboard in order to do this and this would probably make it difficult to impossible to re-install the original changer, if you ever decided to. I try to keep these units original, whenever possible. The only time I'll use a newer changer is if the original is missing or in too bad of shape to repair.

Your other option would be to get another system for playing newer records.
