I saw one at my local antique mall selling for $900.00 is it a rare model or something?

It's a 3-tube stereo phono with two 5-inch speakers and 50C5 output tubes good for about 1½ watts per channel. The center bass channel has a 6-inch speaker and is derived through the right channel output transformer.
My guess is that the seller doesn’t have a clue and he’s looking for a buyer with the same condition. I would feel extremely lucky to sell it for $20 unless it was in absolutely pristine condition.

Yep, nothing rare or special. Just your typical clueless "antiques roadshow/american pickers" seller who thinks anything old is worth a fortune and is hoping for that one clueless individual who will fall for it. If it looked nice, I might go $15-$20.

It plays RECORDS! It MUST be valuable! It HAS to be RARE!

Thing is that dealer had a much older 78 only RCA record player (may have even included a radio) selling for maybe $100.00

That could be a consignment shop and the owner of the record player may be expecting to get big bucks out of it. If that's the case, the shop owner should have told them that there was no way it would bring that much and to not bother leaving it.
