I saw this on my local Kijji it is immaculate, just dusty, no damage to the cabinet.
I see it was made in 1949, im interested but im not sure i want to pay $70 as it
isnt exactly a desirable set, but i do like its looks.
What changer is in it? is that 78 or 45 ?

Thanks
David

It's a 45 changer. $70 is kinda steep to me for that.

It might be possible that behind the left hand door on the bottom of the machine would be a78 changer, they did that at about that time.

It's nice; but, I probably wouldn't want to go over $50 on it.

That is a beauty, if you were a RCA 45 player collector this would be worth something. These big consoles have great sound, great looks but too big to ship and that is their curse and why you "might" be able to get it cheap. With some tiny one tube 45 players bringing $70 and then some you would think this console would be worth more but not really.

If you really like it go for it...but this might be a "45 only" player and that baby takes up a lot of space just to play 45s.

I had thought of that i have a stand alone (mono) that i use on my 2 (mono) tube amps, it plays 33,45,78 so id probably be able to plug it in at the back where the 45 player plugs in, so problem solved.
I had a feeling this might have a good sound, im going to discuss with seller.

A big plus is the condition it's in.You'd save time on restoration in that respect.

Seller plugged it in  and says it just hums, well we all know that sound, just hope he hasnt done anymore damage although i shouldnt struggle too much with parts for this.
Once again i wish people wouldnt plug them in, just leave it alone LOL.

I think that if the finish is real nice, it's complete, and the seller didn't let the smoke out, I'd have no problem paying $70 for it.

Another photo of the back, looks complete and as i figured the phono unplugs and it also has aux input
so it will take a cd player.
Ive shown the wife and im trying to convince her when ive done my work on it, to have it upstairs.
We have old dark wood and its a old house so it would fit in.
Well if i want it he will take $50, looks like its going to be mine :)

Looks to have PP-6V6's; so, should sound decent. I'm surprised it does not have FM. I've seen similar versions in the US; but, they were AM/FM models.

That thing is in really nice shape. I would give $50 for it although I don't really need another console. It would be fun to play some of my 1200+ 45s on.

What is really nice for you is it has an Aux input and a powered outlet for your 33-78 attachment player to plug into...very cool. Plus any push pull 6V6 amp is worth at least $50 on eBay. This is a very popular guitar amp size and being this unit powers a radio and amp the PT has enough umph for the extra tube pre amp tubes needed in a G Amp. $50 I would grab it but even at $70 you would not loose money on that.

It appears to be model 9W91. It has AM and SW. This is the Canadian version of the US 9W101/103. It has 10W output and a 12 inch speaker.

I have just finished rebuilding a 9W103 and it looks and sounds great. The US models have AM and FM. These are nice pieces of furniture. This one appears to be in good shape, cosmetically. The turntable and amp are easy to rebuild. I have been delighted and surprised at how good this unit sounds. Mine has a single 12 inch speaker and the amp puts out 6W. I used a P-228 cartridge after finding that the P-190 had too low an output. The bass is much better with the P-228. I have an RCA 6J, 78 player sitting on top and attached via the aux input. I think it is definitely worth $50. Go for it!
