Does anyone in the "Phonographs" forum know anything
about a NEAT brand turntable?
I've had this unit for more than 30 years, it was old when I
first got it. I've never been able to find any documention on
it at all.
I would guess it's from the mid to early 60s.
It has a NEAT brand tone arm, and NEAT brand pickup.

It had been stored in my garage workshop for more than 20
years, I decided last week to get it out and see if I could get
it going again. When I took the bottom cover off I found a
massive mouse nest and even a petrified mouse.
It took a lot of cleaning to get all that mess out. I've had to r
replace several wires that were gnawed to too.
Plus the bearings were all very stiff and took a lot of work to
get them free and I had to replace the spring that pulls the
capstan roller against the motor spinal and the platter.
The only thing I need now is a new platter mat.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

They date from around 1961, an import from Japan. They were also sold here under the Channel Master brand.

They have started to attract some collector interest.

They made Professional broadcasting equipment in Japan in the 1950s and 1960s, little is know about NEAT itself but it seems they evolved into ONKYO.
You have a nice piece of history there well worth keeping hold of.
