Hello, I have an RCA SHF-6 and I have some questions. I have little knowledge on how to repair units like this, so I am hoping that someone can help me.

What, if any, capacitors should be replaced internally?

Next, I understand that the player is mono, is the mono needle in this player harmful to stereo records?

If so, what would it take to install a stereo needle and/or cartridge?

If a stereo cartridge and/or needle is installed, would it still be able to play 78s?

Where could the correct parts be purchased?

Thank you.

All paper type bypass caps and the electrolytics.

Yes..the tracking weight can be too high also.

Experience and skill to adapt and mount a modern cartridge to the arm so it tracks properly.

Depends on the needle/cartridge you put in..some cartridges have specific 78 needles you can swap out to play your 78's.

Replace all wax paper capacitors inside your amplifier. Also replace the electrolytic capacitors.
