About what year did manufacturers stop making the "furry" turntables and go to rubber for the platter?
------------------
RCA Victor 78-rpm changers used a rubber mat in 1948 then switched back to flocked platters until 1956 when they returned to rubber mats. The RCA 45-rpm changers were introduced in 1949 with linoleum mats that changed to bare plastic platters around 1951. I guess you could say that rubber mats started being used in the late 40's but flocked platters were made through the late 50s.
------------------
