An otoscope (ear inspection instrument) is an excellent tool for inspecting small parts, cabinet flaws, faint markings, solder connections, peeking inside a tube, etc. I bought an lower end model on ebay and have been very happy with it.

Otoscopes have a built in light and moderate magnification, giving a bright focused image. Dozens can be found on ebay, in a wide price range. Mine cost $30, uses 2 C cells, and came with an assortment of viewing tips. It has been a great help and I use it regularly.

Never thought about it, great Idea.

the funnels are useful too. Put one on a skin tag and spray freeze mist in it (large end up  )and it protects surrounding skin.

Hello David,
That's a great idea.
Another Source for lens are out of flatbed scanners and coping machines.

Those aren't funnels; they are speculums.

In the ER where I volunteer you have to be specific whether you want an otoscope speculum or a vaginal speculum.
