I'm preparing to put together a speaker for a Radiola 18 and I'm spinning my wheels on the design. I have an obsession with latticework, carving and whatnot, so I definitely know what I want to do.

The 'box fan' got rough treatment because it is lowly scrap plywood.

I'll get some pics posted of my most recent speaker set when I get to them, working on the motorcycle for the riding season right now :)

All the drivers are paper, but i think it'll still perform as expected... Especially since their main purpose for being built is to run off SE 50C5s, not exactly power house amp.

No, not at all... it's a low-speed fan condenser fan with deep aluminum blades. I have some high speed industrial fans with steel blades though.

Nick, that's neat. I like that it's plywood! I think I see how to make a frame for my little copper waterline loop antenna...

Is this close enough? I needed a Philco 20 face, so...

Never finished it. The chassis is totally done and everything sits in the shed. Something else came along and I lost interest. Our "riding season" is 365 days and that's what I do now.

That's incredible. Ever think about hiring out for cabinet-part repros?

Laser cutting has made mill cutting pretty much obsolete for stuff like that. Properly calibrated and set, it could have done that face from start to finish in about 2 minutes.
