I am trying to build the AA8V Regenative Receiver, by Dr. Greg Latta, and 2 of the capacitors requirred are 470pf. I have two 500pf silver mica capacitors, which I intend to use as substitutes. Anyone see any problems with this substitution? Any comments welcome.......Lenny

Thanks Norm. I like a second or third opinion if I decide to get creative on any project! Lenny

They will work fine, in case you are curious as to why...............

The purpose of those two caps is to shunt any RF to ground leaving only the audio. The radio would prob work just fine if you left them and the 2.5MH RF choke out.

Most schematics floating around out there call for 1000pF. That is what I use on all my regens.

If the cap gets too big you will start losing audio.
