That's true, and the mills that can crank out our type of cloth are not as common as they once were. That's what happened to John, his supplier closed so John decided it was easier to retire than find a new source. That combined with the fact that no one is getting rich off this makes it a part-time labor of love.
Someone was looking at a source down south, starting off with some Zenith cloth and then branching out, but even that requires an initial outlay of cash. Not really sure where that project stands at this point. Radio Daze was looking into some places, but I suspect costs might be prohibitive. Then a member here was thinking of asking around the L.A. garment district, but I haven't heard about that for a while either.
I suspect someone will eventually come out with new cloth, but I have no clue when that might happen. We're in the same situation before Michael Katz and John started selling cloth. Hit the fabric shops, use generic cloth when possible, and preserve/patch that original cloth whenever possible. Eventually when someone figures out a way to make a profit we might see reproduction cloth again.
