Yes. If I'm not mistaken, Norm may have purchased a bunch of those transformers from Cheneyelectronicsstore.com a while ago. I'm not sure if that store still stocks them.

Just general info. I was able to get a kit together for Rocketeer, all but U-1. It was because 35Z5 made it easy to do as usual. I took the liberty of 25 ohm in place of 27 ohm on the two new resistors. I hope that fly's!

EDIT- New caps shipped were 50wvdc. Had them laying around thanks to Tom S who gets me parts from time to time.

Right, that's what Tom specified. It's a low cost, fixed, 5 volt regulator. A person could use LM317 but it would take a couple resistors to adjust to 5 volts.

I sourced my LM7805 from a junk Zenith TV PCB from the '90s... Have to watch out though, LM7809 & LM7812 are fairly common in those application...

I have a couple of questions regarding the build. I'm just about done with the assembly and was thinking about using a 3 prong power cord and grounding the transmitter through it. Is that OK, or will I get noise? If I can't ground to the receptacle ground, can I ground it to the aluminum base in the project box? I assume so.

The second question is about the antenna length. the L2 coil in my kit is 1000uh as the 680uh was unavailable, what length of antenna would be a good place to start from?

You should always use a two conductor cord with ground with these transmitters, and tie the aluminum base to ground as well.

Post Office told me that the rocketeer kit should arrive on Saturday.

Larry, let me know if you need anything. Some parts in the regular kit are back ordered and that affected a hand full of kit builders including rocketeer.

I was feeling around the bottom of the last box in the dark in my shed and got the rocketeer transformer but I need to check in daylight as I think I'm running out again. I'll let you know asap.

I'll be away two weeks. Will need to send transformers beginning of March. I still have plenty. For me best to send 12 by priority mail. Regular mail would cost $50 to your location. I don't mind $10.95 but $50 is too high.

Wow! The audio from that xmitter always sounds best on my '29 Atwater Kent Model 55C radio console (which explains why I use that receiver the most). Special thanks to Tom (35Z5), Norm Leal, Bill Hamre, Dave Doughty and others whose contributions to this forum are invaluable.

After digging thru all my stuff this what I still need. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction?

X1 - Crystal Osc (1000Kc) - FOUND
D1, D2, D3 - 1N4007 - THEY WERE THERE IN THE KIT ALL ALONG :oops:

L1 - 1mh coil - FOUND
L2 - 1mh (1000Kc) -FOUND
L3 - 470uh - FOUND

Two 7-pin tube sockets - FOUND
12CS6 tube - FOUND
